GDPR is pan-European legislation that harmonises data protection across all member states from 25 May 2018. It basically says 

"If you store EU Citizen data, the Citizen should be able to access it, retrieve it, change it or transfer it somewhere else."

This will significantly effect companies who are based in or do Business in Europe. With fines as much as €20 million or 4% of your global turnover (whichever is greater) - are you GDPR compliant?
